"We are the Blackberry boys"
An advert made by the Vodafone people showcasing the fact that Blackberry is no longer a "Black Tie" affair.
I completely understand the need for a BlackBerry for people who are required to be in constant touch with the corporate world. People who have dedicated their lives in making more and more money, which is great. No offence to anybody.
What I don't understand is the "young generation" buying a Blackberry.
Do you need to send and receive emails constantly? Is it a matter of risking your career?
I think not.
I may sound old and senile when I say this but back in our days (and that was not very long ago) we hardly bothered with emails. It was something to be checked once a day at home on the personal computer.
Mobile phones were used for sending friends text messages and calling an odd few. This was college.
Back in the school days we never even had phones!
In today's day and age this is regarded as something shocking! Well, bummer.
I am just about twenty one but technologically I think like a ninety year old.
Technology is great, no doubt about that. BUT, what is it doing to us?!
I got to know the other day that in a blackberry or as the cool say "BB" when a person sends a message he gets to know when the receiver gets the text AND when he reads it!
*shocker*
I mean i don't read half my messages and if i get a blackberry or in touch with someone that does then i have no excuse!
Its not like its the moment of truth we are playing here. I have the right to not read a text and not compelled be to. Some text messages, the forwards, just don't deserve a first glance let alone a second one!
Whats wrong with the world?
The excuse making silly privacy?
The not reading text messages and then saying "I did not even receive a message!"
I wish I was born in the big black phones in the cradle with a round dialer on top days. They were so earthy.
Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's kept her phone in a TRUNK! I mean how cool is that?!
Its not just the Blackberry's, it is just a part of a bigger black hole in which we all are willingly falling.
Where are the good old writing a long letter days? Gone. Far far away.
*sigh*
Where are the good old writing a long letter days? Gone. Far far away.
*sigh*
Well. It is just the way it is. Writing about it makes it better for me so here I me making peace with myself.
So, I hum along each time hear the song...."we are the blackberry boys...."
xoxo
